Life of the Church: Living Letters
Thursday Sep 04, 2025
Thursday Sep 04, 2025
Drawing from 2 Corinthians 3, Mariah spoke on how our lives are letters to the world.
Reflecting on her own experience being called to serve as a missionary abroad, she shared with us thoughts on incarnational mission, cultivating lives of worship, getting God’s vision for the lost, glory, and unity in the Church.
We heard powerful testimonies of Jesus reaching into people’s lives and saving them, strangers seeing the glory of God in the face of Christians and asking questions, and young believers being discipled.

The King is Here: Widows and Leaders
Thursday Aug 28, 2025
Thursday Aug 28, 2025
This passage makes it very clear: the Lord tears down the house of the proud…even if it’s His own house.
Every human institution - government, school, family, church - all reflect the fears of those who lead them. That’s why the temple became so twisted then, and how the church has become twisted even now.
Jesus’ solution to this problem is taking people on a journey from fear to love. In this passage the teachers of the law reveal that they are afraid of people, but the poor widow reveals that she fears the Lord.
Our lives are an opportunity to trust Jesus, to give Him a sacrifice, and to look to Him for provision. This type of life moves His heart and is what we were made for.

The King is Here: Will I Be Married in Heaven?
Thursday Aug 21, 2025
Thursday Aug 21, 2025
On Sunday we continued in our Luke Series with a teaching from Alex on Luke 20v27-39.
This time, it’s the Sadducees who try to lay a trap for Jesus by asking him about resurrection. Jesus responds to them by correcting their literalist interpretations of the Torah. He invites them to interpret the Scriptures instead through covenant & the heart of God.
The Scriptures are not an instruction manual to memorize, but an introduction to the Father - an invitation to have relationship with Yahweh the way Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did. In the midst of fear, unbelief and failure, they still hoped, and experienced the faithfulness of God.

The King is Here: Wisdom Outside Candy Land

Friday Aug 15, 2025
In Luke 20v20-26, Jesus speaks to a profound issue that we all deal with. How do you live in the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of this Age?
When the people want a straightforward answer, Jesus invites them to a lifestyle that requires trust. You live in this world, but you belong to God. As you grow in trust you will grow in wisdom of how to partner with God in the renewal of this world until He returns.

The King is Here: Cornerstone
Wednesday Aug 06, 2025
Wednesday Aug 06, 2025
On Sunday, we got to hear from one of our elders, Pete, on the Parable of the Tenants in Luke 20.
Jesus rebukes the priests through this parable for abusing the authority that they were given. They were supposed to love and steward God’s people, but they became entitled and chose to pursue their version of the kingdom without the King. They disregarded and killed God’s prophets, and ultimately the Messiah himself.
Even after this strong rebuke, Jesus extends mercy by telling them that if they are willing to “fall” upon Christ the Cornerstone, they can be saved & be apart of the new family that brings His kingdom.
The Lord disciplines those he loves (Proverbs 3:2). He only offers a rebuke out of mercy, for your good, so you can leave your flesh behind once again and follow Him.

The King is Here: The Return of the King Part II
Wednesday Jul 30, 2025
Wednesday Jul 30, 2025
This week’s passage from Luke 20v1-8 shows how Jesus uses his authority differently than the Pharisees, demonstrating the priorities of the kingdom of heaven.
Out of fear, the Pharisees use their authority to control people. Out of love, Jesus uses his authority to invite people back into relationship with the Father.
God always wanted relationship, and when we accept His love we are able to love Him back. From this place of relationship we are able to exercise our authority towards love, obedience and service.

The King is Here: Becoming a House of Prayer
Wednesday Jul 23, 2025
Wednesday Jul 23, 2025
This week’s message from Luke 19:45–48 reminded us that the church is meant to be a house of prayer, not a place to hide lives disconnected from God. Jesus confronts the temple, not Rome, showing that the real issue is spiritual compromise. We’re called to be living evidence of God’s presence - people carrying His character of compassion, grace, and justice into the world.

The King is Here: The Power of Man and The Power of God
Wednesday Jul 09, 2025
Wednesday Jul 09, 2025
In Luke 19, Jesus tells a parable to juxtapose himself with Gentile rulers of the day. They come with power to dominate, but Jesus enters Jerusalem in humility to die for the salvation of the world.
Jesus’ eternal kingdom isn’t based around a physical place or earthly power, but on the Spirit of God filling human hearts. This is the only way to navigate the now and not yet of our life on earth.
To live with power and peace, is to go low, to need Jesus.

The King is Here: How Did Zacchaeus Get Saved?
Thursday Jul 03, 2025
Thursday Jul 03, 2025
On Sunday we jumped back into our series on the book of Luke. In the beginning of chapter 19 we read a story about the salvation of a man named Zacchaeus.
In this story, Jesus highlights that Zacchaeus’ salvation has to do with being restored to the covenant family of Abraham. We all received this same invitation, to trust Christ like Abraham trusted Yahweh, and be grafted into the blessed family of God. Zacchaeus let Jesus come into his home that day, and shared a meal with Him that would change his life forever!
If faith in Jesus leads to consecration, let us be set apart again for His glory and His purposes.

Pentecost: How To Be Transformed
Wednesday Jun 25, 2025
Wednesday Jun 25, 2025
This last Sunday we continued in our Pentecost series with a teaching from one of our elders, Austin Smith, on how the Holy Spirit helps us grow and become like Christ.
Throughout the Scriptures, we see that the Holy Spirit’s main job is to reveal Jesus. When the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus, we see the love of God and we get access to God’s power.
In the same way that we were saved by faith, we also grow in our sanctification by faith. As the Holy Spirit continues to reveal Jesus to us, we make ourselves available to this revelation and exercise our faith to believe that it’s true and that it still means something for us today.
His grace then empowers us to live into the holiness that we are called to. He does the heavy lifting as we keep our eyes fixed on Him.
